This is my old site. I'm trying to move everything over to tedroden.com.
Look at me!
Posted by fatius at July 1st, 2007
I spend a lot of time at my desk, and very little time cleaning it off. It’s very comfortable, but it’s not one of those ergonomic desks. In fact the desk gives me splinters, frequently. I love it though, splinters and all.
Vimeo and Me.
Posted by fatius at June 29th, 2007
We launched a new version of vimeo this week and we’re pretty proud of it. The whole thing went pretty smoothly and people seem to like it:
- “Quite possibly the nicest looking login screen on the web.” — netcocktail
- “Vimeo v5 is released, and it is hot” — You Make Media
- “Vimeo is to YouTube as Facebook is to MySpace” — kottke
- Posted screenshots of the site… wait, what? — Mashable
- “The new release is going to change my opinion on shooting video for sharing on the Web.” — mikekrisher.com
- etc… — Siongchin.com
Anyways, here’s my first video posted to the new site.

At the risk of appearing to be a delicious mirror, check this out. Some facts about craigslist.org:

2. All 24 employees work at a Victorian house in San Francisco
3. The company has never had a tech quit in 12 years
4. Craigslist never holds meetings.

Working Late
Posted by fatius at May 30th, 2007
So I’ve been working super late the last couple of weeks… super late. The lady has been very understanding, because she’s the tops. Anyways, tomorrow (today) we’re launching a pre-beta. Sure, you can’t actually log in unless you know someone, but the embed player works. It’s new! It’s awesome!
Here’s a video I uploaded this week.

iPhone to get 3rd party apps!
Posted by fatius at May 30th, 2007
Question: We’d love to write apps. Will it open up?
Steve Jobs: This is a very important tradeoff between security and openness. We want both. We’ve got good ideas, and sometime later this year, we can open it up to 3rd party apps..
